In the morning Chris calls at 9 to see if we want to meet
up with him at the beach – Golden Gardens Park. I have wanted to
take the kids to the beach and so this sounds really nice to me.
He mentioned going to the beach together last night when we
picked up the RV from his shop. Steve looked at me incredulously
since this guy is not into the warm fuzzies (direct transcript
from journal: He seems not to be interested in making people
happy…actually neither himself).

We drive off toward the beach and naturally end up
wondering when Chris will be here. As he drives up in his big,
mean looking red truck the kids jump up and are all excited to
see Halle.

We pack up and go down the beach, it’s too cold to go
swimming, but Chris obliges to make the kids into mermaids and
such. He is very sweet with Halle and always willing to talk to
them, especially Jonah…
